Online Roulette Variations
Most online casinos offering Roulette offer many versions of the game. There is nothing unusual about this as most online casinos offer more than one version of any given game. With Roulette, there are at least four different versions of Roulette that the player may take advantage of at any one online casino.
Playing Online Roulette
Most online casinos will offer at least four different versions of online Roulette to enthusiasts of the game, as previously mentioned. Those versions tend to be American Roulette, European Roulette, French Roulette, and Roulette Royale.
American Roulette - American Roulette is the version of Roulette most commonly played in Las Vegas, as may not be surprising. In American Roulette, the objective of the game is to bet correctly - or closely - on the number of combination of numbers on which the roulette ball with in the end fall after the dealer has thrown it on the wheel in the opposite direction of the wheel's movement. An American Roulette wheel contains thirty-six numbers, from 1-36, as well as a 0 and a 00 option. American Roulette, therefore, is often called "double zero Roulette."
European Roulette - The procedure through which European Roulette is played is the same as that of American Roulette. As in its American counterpart, in European Roulette, the dealer throws the Roulette ball onto the wheel in the direction opposite of that of the wheel's movement, and the players must then bet on which number the ball will land on. The difference between American Roulette and European Roulette, therefore, is that in European Roulette, the 00 option does not exist; there is only a single 0.
French Roulette - As in the two previously-mentioned versions of Roulette, the procedure is basically the same. The dealer throws the Roulette ball onto the wheel in the same manner and the players make bets and wait for the ball to land on a number or on a combination of numbers. The French Roulette wheel, however, is red and is also in French. The French Roulette wheel also contains only a single 0 rather than the double-zero 00 of the American Roulette wheel. French Roulette has a rule all its own called La Partage; that is, if you make an even bet, and the ball lands on 0, you lose only half of your bet.
Roulette Royale - Roulette Royale is the progressive version of the game. Like the two previously-mentioned versions of Roulette, the procedure is the same and the goal is the same. The dealer throws the ball onto the wheel and the players bet on the number or numbers on which it will land. One difference, however, is that Roulette Royale must be played for real money. As it is a progressive game, each play made by each player adds to the overall jackpot and thus the amount up to be won can often reach quite impressive heights.
